Contemporary Representational Artist

Searching for an ever deepening relationship with art and nature, Linda traveled to New York City. She received her Certificate for Fine Arts from the National Academy of Design, NYC, having trained with Sam Adoquei, Ron Sherr and studied at The Art Students League, NYC, with Harvey Dinnerstein and Costa Vavagiakis. Linda received additional training at SACI in Florence, Italy, and the ateliers of Burton Silverman and Carlos Castano.

Before devoting her career full time to fine art painting, Miss West worked as an illustrator for such clients as Young & Rubicam, Channel 13 (PBS) in New York, The Wall Street Journal, Kidder Peabody, Double Day Books, Mercedes Benz, well-known book and magazine publishers.

The classical art training led Linda to portraiture with such clients as the late politician, Jack Kemp, members of the Johnson & Johnson family, doctors, corporate leaders, children, etc.

Linda has been the recipient of numerous awards including Best in Show President’s Award and the F.Mora Award for Portrait at the Kent Art Association President’s Shows, first place at the Faces of Winter Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists Exhibition, the Vasari Artist Oil Colors Award for Excellence in Oil at the Salmagundi Club, and the Artwell Gallery Show 4A Show mark of excellence from the Mattatuck Museum. Her work has been exhibited in New York City at the Cork Gallery, The Salmagundi Club, the Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery, in Connecticut at The UConn Stamford Gallery, Hurlbut Gallery, Artwell Gallery, the Behnke Doherty Gallery third Winter Group Show, and The Cudahy Gallery in Virginia.
